MACHINERY Directive
Directive 2006/42/EC, more commonly known as the Machinery Directive, establishes the Essential Safety Requirements (RES) in order to allow the free movement of machinery within the European market and to safeguard the safety and health of users.It applies to:
- machines
- interchangeable equipment
- safety components
- lifting accessories
- chains, ropes and straps designed and constructed for lifting purposes as an integral part of lifting machines or lifting accessories
- removable mechanical transmission devices;
- partly completed machinery
